Frequently asked questions if you are looking for:

  1. To whom should I address my cover letter?

“Dear recruiter” or “To whom it may concern.” There's a good chance you don't know anyone on the recruiting team personally, and even if you don't, putting in a name isn't going to make any difference, we promise.

  2. How should I apply?

Apply directly to the position you are interested in from our recent offers. Please make sure you meet the profile for the position before applying. It's okay to apply to positions in different offices, but applying to different offers won't increase your chances of getting in (and will probably raise alarms among the recruiting team). Include a cover letter and your resume in the same file to apply. Additionally, if you apply for design or technology positions, you must include an electronic URL file with your digital work portfolio or information from your GitHub or any other similar repository. (A physical portfolio does not work well to give you the most exposure with the people who evaluate your work) After you apply we will contact you if we are considering your application.

  3. I really want to work in Sustainable Consulting. What can I do to get hired?

We are looking for talented people who have a wide range of interests. Many of our hires have advanced degrees and extensive experience working in a specific field, but they are not specialists. We look for people who have at least one area of expertise and a broad scope of other skills, abilities and experiences, whether through work or personal experience.

Additionally, great candidates feel comfortable and want to work as a team. Projects in Sustainable Consulting involve a lot of cooperation between teams from different disciplines, sometimes internal and sometimes with partners from our talent ecosystem.

We seek to resolve these types of questions: What do you offer? What is your commitment? What are your goals? Who else can validate your story? Once we begin the interview process, we will call your references and have enough conversations to understand who you are and also help you understand who we are.

  1. How does the recruitment process work?

We have a central recruiting team that works with people in each of our regions to handle offers, review applications, determine skills, and coordinate the interview and hiring process.

A candidate coming for an interview may meet more than a dozen people. We recommend bringing examples of work and things you have done, interesting things you are passionate about, and things you want to do. Interviews range from work-related questions to casual questions about your life.

After a series of interviews, we will all meet as soon as possible to share notes and ask each other “do you see yourself working with this person?” What do you think he will bring to the team? ” The decision to invite you will be made if the majority shares the vision that you will be someone who, in addition to enjoying and collaborating, will grow and generate profit and value by working here.

  1. Will you contact me to find out the status of my application?

Unfortunately, we cannot respond personally to all applications. We will evaluate and share the appropriate people within Sustainable Consulting. If there is an immediate match between our needs and your talents, we will contact you directly. (If you don't hear from us, please assume we don't have a suitable opportunity for you at the moment, but we will keep your talents and abilities in mind for any opportunities that may arise in the future.)

  2. Do many of your hires come from referrals from employee recommendations?

Almost half of our candidates come from recommendations from our polymaths, the rest approach us directly, from recruitment agencies to specialized investigations and searches.

  3. Do they require years of experience or do they also hire recent graduates?

We believe it is important that for our continued success and that of our clients, we always work with people from both sides of the spectrum, to stay fresh and import new ideas, perspectives and experiences. In some cases, someone with a lot of experience may need new ideas and, on the other hand, someone with great ideas may need experience or professional connections of many years to grow and be successful.

  4. How can I stand out as a candidate?

We want to know as much as possible about our candidates, we're not impressed by funny fonts or clever comments. Different roles are required in different presentations: if you have design experience, the appearance of your resume matters much more than those with administrative profiles. We need everything you send us to be digital, including your portfolio. Many people will see your work like this and many are outside, so the digital format works best. Please have all your work come in one file or send us a link to a site where we can see your work, thus giving you the best exposure. Diplomas are important, but not necessarily from the school they belong to. We have people in Sustainable Consulting who come from all types of programs around the world. Help us get to know you better, including other skills and recognition as you see fit. Remember that too much information can be overwhelming, while too little information can cause others to fill in the blanks, find the balance. Attention to detail matters a lot to us, curricula with errors can be a big problem.

  5. How do you determine cultural fit?

We see ourselves as a mosaic of individuals, which if seen from a distance generates a beautiful image, but up close each individual is different. Your passions, your enthusiasm, your ability to collaborate, your travel stories, the last book you read, the last movie you hated… we ask ourselves “would we want to travel with this person?” What would this person be like at a dinner party or in a creative session or in a problem? We are eclectic, diverse and there is always room for another point of view.

Great candidates offer more than a list of past jobs or courses they have taken. Sometimes we read resumes from back to front to find out what you have done outside of work, you could tell us what you have done on your own beyond being someone's employee. Use your introductory letter to tell a story that couldn't be seen on your resume. Help us connect the dots; Tell us who you really are.

  1. And what do I win?

We strive to be an extraordinary and fun workplace for world-class professionals. We have applied the anthropocentric talent management process to our own organization and processes and are always optimizing our systems to ensure that we are effectively supporting personal and collective well-being and growth. We believe it is important that we examine all the factors that are valuable to the relationship between you and Sustainable Consulting, not just the obvious ones like salary and benefits. We have learned that although money is an important component of a good place to work, it is not the most important aspect, here are four aspects of why Sustainable Consulting is a great place to work:

Unique opportunities: We attract the most interesting, most diverse and most difficult challenges in the world, both from the public and private, as well as academic and social sectors. We offer opportunities to work across a diverse platform of products, services, industries, customers, technologies and experiences, which in volume and scale are difficult to find anywhere else. We empower our teams to build relationships with influential clients and organizations and give them a high level of independence to guide work and generate pleasing and appropriate solutions.

Talent and diversity: We hire talented thinkers with many perspectives, disciplines, nationalities and points of view. We believe that a civilized workspace is a better place to work. We generate different ways of sharing knowledge and projects among our people, understanding that we all work better and learn more when we can freely interact and collaborate with talented individuals.

Inspiration: People thrive when they work in stimulating, comfortable and well-located places. We try to be in cities where people want to be and offer offices and workshops that promote collaboration and inspire a great project. We encourage building community as an essential part of your work. We think it's better than working in a corner, at home or in a cubicle.

Compensation and benefits: Ah, the money! We offer competitive compensation and additional benefits.

  1. I still have questions. Can I talk to someone?

Unfortunately, due to the volume of applications we are unable to do informational interviews. If you have a specific question that has not been answered above, we ask you to send an email to cs@consultoriasostenible.com We ask you not to send emails regarding job opportunities in our contact forms.

  1. Is there a deadline to apply?

There isn't actually a deadline, but we recommend applying early. A position is open until someone fills it and is not posted on our site.

  2. How do these programs work?

Sustainable Consulting has many scholarship holders and interns with different academic profiles throughout the year. We only consider students. We truly value that our interns make real contributions to culture and Sustainable Consulting projects. Many have become full-time collaborators, but we cannot guarantee that that will happen, what we do guarantee is that you will learn a lot and have fun too.

  3. How long do the programs last, and when do they start?

Most of our scholarship recipients enter structured programs that begin in June at the beginning of classes. We also have six-month programs that open as needed.

  4. Are these programs paid?

It depends on the program and the project(s) they join.

  5. What type of students are we looking for?

Successful candidates must have exceptional skills and demonstrate a high quality of work and great passion for the practice they are pursuing. We look for people who demonstrate clear points of view. Sustainable Consulting has a collaborative culture of teamwork, we want students who know how to work with others, but also have a personal orientation towards excellence. The desire to succeed helps!

  6. Can I work in Sustainable Consulting while I am on sabbatical or during a career change?

Unfortunately, we only offer these programs to students seeking to complete a bachelor's degree.

  7. What type of projects will I work on?

Our interns will work together with the rest of the team on all Sustainable Consulting projects. You will spend your time in creative sessions, creating solutions and prototypes, contextual observations and other aspects of the projects. This may include meetings, presentations and in some cases travel. This doesn't involve sharpening pencils and pouring coffee (unless you know how and want to).

  8. Are there any other benefits of working in Sustainable Consulting?

Our interns are an essential part of the Sustainable Consulting culture and are included in all the organization's activities. At the beginning of the program we will create a contest that allows interns to compete, so that they have exposure to people and spaces. Additionally, they will have weekly meetings, goal reviews, and entry and exit interviews. This is because we want to know your experience. We will assign you a mentor who will guide you and help you answer any questions you may have.

  9. How should I apply?

Apply directly to the position you are interested in from our recent offers. Please make sure you meet the profile for the position before applying. It's okay to apply to positions in different offices, but applying to different offers won't increase your chances of getting in (and will probably raise alarms among the recruiting team).
